The priority for Champagne Claude MICHEZ, before anything else is to guarantee a minimum yield, to preserve the durability of its vintages, the friendliness of its prices, and in turn their clients, having the reasoned organic methods.

The progression and enforcement of our procedure is as follows :

We start by reintroducing a vine friend, considered an auxiliary, the typhlodromes. the mite eater of mites, which pest for the vine. This key step has allowed the complete cessation of using mite killers.

We later realized there are 2 other cases of mite pests, the cochylis and the eudemis, which are primarily responsible for insects of rot.

Settling up to the totality of vineyard the sexual confusion, a biologic battle method that consists of avoiding the spread of worms to the grapes.

This strategic battle process was set up and well organized thanks to the dedication of a handful of native viticulturists from village.
Their will was to promote a responsible and efficient viticulturist image.
The village of Boursault was at the time, at the initial forefront of this strategy.


This Eco friendly practice has allowed the complete ending of the use of insecticides in the vineyards.

To fight against the erosion phenomenon, I decided, in consultation with an agronomist technician, to plant grass in the vine and the lot contours with different grass species.

This initiative has also allowed reducing more than 50% the use of herbicides.

Lastly, to fight against the diseases with cryptogaphique origin, we use bio products like sulphur and the mush from Bordeaux.

But these products have an action limit in function of climatic conditions.
That’s why the resort of synthesis products is a necessary practice to assure the harvest quality.
